OnePlus 5T – Android 9

Aufgrund der DualSim Möglichkeit, um hier meine private Sim und die geschäftliche Sim in einem Gerät benutzen zu können waren für mich immer wieder die Geräte von OnePlus die erste Wahl.

Was aber immer wieder nervt, gerade wenn man mit der Sprachwahl im Auto telefonieren wollte war die Abfrage über welche Simkarte man telefonieren möchte. Das hat endlich ein Ende, denn seit gestern habe ich die Open BETA 20 für das OnePlus 5T aufgespielt und eines der neuen Features ist die Zuweisung der Kontaktgruppen (Arbeit, Kunde, Privat) zu einer Simkarte und somit werde ich in Zukunft noch einfache telefonieren können.

Was ist sonst noch in der neuen Version enthalten:

  • System
    • Updated system to Android 9.0 Pie
    • Brand new UI for Android Pie
    • Brand new navigation gestures (this is only for 5T)
    • Updated Android security patch to 2018.11
    • Optimizations for background app process handling
  • Do Not Disturb mode
    • New Do Not Disturb mode with adjustable settings
  • Communication
    • UI Improvements for emergency rescue
    • Optimized UI for speed dial and calling interface
    • Now able to assign a specific SIM for a specific contact or group of contacts when using dual SIM
  • Parallel Apps
    • Added support for more apps (Telegram, Discord, IMO, Uber, OLA) in parallel apps
  • Weather
    • Now able to switch dynamically to your current location
    • Display more suggestions when the search function is used
    • Fixed an issue that prevented the app from refreshing when the location is changed
    • Fixed an issue that resulted in some users being unable to find certain locations


Ich habe mich sehr gefreut, dass OnePlus 5T ist ja nicht die neue Generation der OnePlus Smartphones, aber ich freue mich über die Aktualisierung und zeigt mir wieder einmal, dass ich mit den OnePlus 5T die richtige Wahl getroffen haben. Zum einen werden alle meine Anforderungen vom Smartphone erfüllt und der Hersteller pflegt auch die älteren Modelle weiter.
Das Update kann von Teilnehmern des OnePlus Beta Programms einfach als OTA-Update heruntergeladen werden. Für alle die mit gerne auf die Stabil-Version warten wollen, werden wohl noch bis ins neue Jahr warten müssen oder die Open BETA20 manuell installieren müssen.

Garmin Oregon 550 – Firmware update 4.49

In den letzten Wochen habe ich mich immer wieder darüber gewundert, warum sich der Garmin nicht mehr meldet, wenn ich am Wegpunkt angekommen bin.

Heute hat nun Garmin eine neue Firmware zur Verfügung gestellt, die dieses Problem fixen soll.

Es handelt sich noch um eine Beta-Firmware.

Changes made from version 4.47 to 4.49:
  • Fixed issues relating to WAAS performance.
  • Fixed issue where the device would not regain a GPS signal after losing the GPS signal in a tunnel.
  • Fixed shutdown on the map screen when a waypoint was being moved to the same location as a geocache or other POIs.
  • Fixed an issue where the enabled/disabled option for custom maps could not be changed when two or more BirdsEye™ Satellite Imagery providers were on the device.
  • Fixed an issue where the device would not beep when approaching a destination while routing off-road.

Garmin Oregon: Neue Beta-Firmware verfügbar

246 Garmin hat uns mal wieder eine neue Beta-Firmware für die Oregon Serie beschert, die man aktuell auf der Garmin Website downloaden kann.

Die neue Version 3.74 hat zusätzlich Funktionen erhalten und einige Probleme wurden gefixt:

    Changes made from version 3.71 to 3.74:

    • Added multicaching support.

    • Added display color to track gpx files.

    • Added ability to set user declination direction.

    • Improved accuracy of trip odometer.

    • Fixed occasional shutdowns.

    • Fixed issue with stuck route button.

    • Fixed issue with Oblique Mercator User grid.

    Was Garmin mit dem Multicaching Support meint, habe ich noch nicht herausgefunden, vielleicht kann mir jemand hier mal einen Tipp geben. Die Systeminfo Seite kann man noch immer nicht öffnen, hierbei stürzt das Gerät ab.

    Wichtig für alle die bereits die letzte Beta Version 3.71 aufgespielt haben, hierfür steht eine extra Installation zur Verfügung und das Händling ist etwas anders. Funktioniert aber Problemlos.

    Garmin Oregon/Dakota: Beta – Firmwareupdate

    Aktuell hat Garmin eine neue Firmware für die Oregon- und Dakota-Geräte zur Verfügung gestellt.

     

    Oregon x50:
    Changes made from version 3.50 to 3.51:
    * Added brightness adjustments for BirdsEye imagery.
    * Improved WAAS performance.
    * Improved speed, trip odometer, and stopped/moving time data fields while in low velocity.
    * Fixed issue with map POI’s showing twice for a single point.
    * Fixed elevation profiles to always use the most detailed DEM data loaded.
    * Fixed future plot with tracks that have no elevations in them.
    * Fixed issue with calculator % function.

    Oregon x00:
    Changes made from version 3.80 to 3.81:
    * Added brightness adjustments for BirdsEye imagery.
    * Improved WAAS performance.
    * Improved speed, trip odometer, and stopped/moving time data fields while in low velocity.

    Wie man hier im Forum nachlesen kann, hat sich scheinbar auch die GPS-Genauigkeit erhöht, was mich natürlich sehr freut, denn in den letzten Wochen ist mir Aufgefallen, dass die Genauigkeit etwas zu wünschen übrig gelassen hat.

    Kann das jemand bestätigen?

    Garmin Oregon 550: Firmware 3.26 (beta)

    Garmin hat mal wieder eine neue Firmware für den Garmin Oregon 550 herausgebracht, die folgenden Neuerungen enthält.

    – Added ability to change active track color.

    – Added custom waypoint and geocache symbols.

    – Added track archive options

    Funktionen die bereits schon von vielen Nutzern gefordert wurden. Die Tracks können nun täglich, wöchentlich oder wenn der der Speicher voll ist automatisch abgespeichert werden und die Trackfarbe kann nun endlich frei gewählt werden, was die Erkennbarkeit natürlich sehr erhöht.
